Banff is a great location that's perfect for ski holidays. Banff is set in the beautiful Banff National Park in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Banff receives on average 30 feet of snow per year and the area is split into three resorts within close proximity of each other offering an incredible range of skiing. The Tri area lift pass covers the local region of Mount Norquay (10 minutes by bus from town), Sunshine Village (25 minutes) with its expansive ski area and Lake Louise (45 minutes) set in a spectacular setting. All are inter-connected by the free shuttle bus. Together they offer some of Canada's best skiing and snowboarding opportunities for intermediates and advanced skiers and snowboarders. The Banff area has been protected by making it a National Park and in this genuinely unspoilt ski resort, wild elk still wander into town occasionally while bighorn sheep and the occasional moose can be seen in the foothills of the ski area. Downtown Banff offers good value lodging and true Canadian hospitality plus it has an excellent variety of shops, bars and restaurants, catering for all tastes and budgets.
