Champoluc is a delightful, unspoilt village lying at the top of the Ayas Valley, below the imposing Monte Rosa mountain chain with its towering peaks and extensive glaciers. Without a doubt, it is the most popular resort in the little-known Monterosa ski area, which covers three valleys with a modern lift system. With extensive possibilities for off-piste skiing and touring, plus uncrowded slopes, this is a great area to get off the beaten track. The 3 areas are covered with one lift pass - Champoluc and its neighbouring satellite villages of Gressoney and Alagna are all easy to access. The ski area is full of rustic Italian charm, with many traditional mountain restaurants to choose from, some of which are pretty high up so you can relish some of those panoramic views while you eat. The pretty resort itself has a classic ski resort ambience with an ice rink, plus lots of traditional restaurants and apres ski bars.
