Les Arcs is a wonderful, modern resort filled with inspiring skiing. Now linked to La Plagne, the "Paradiski" area offers a massive 425 kms of pistes and has a superb snow record. Exhilarating runs swoop through the forests, providing wonderful skiing at all levels which is superb for all grades of skier or snowboarder.

Les Arcs comprises 4 self-contained villages at different heights: Arc 1800, home to the ever popular & highly recommended Hotel Du Golf Les Arcs, is the largest village, with a lively atmosphere, good selection of shops and restaurants plus excellent access to the skiing. Arc 2000 is popular with experienced skiers, with skiing to and from the doorstep and near the magnificent Aiguille Rouge glacier. Arc 1600 nestles below the other two and has a real village atmosphere. Arc 1950 is the new stunning village built in a traditional style with many luxury accommodations , Nearby Peisey-Vallandry is closest to la Plagne so has quick access to the whole ski area.

Les Arcs - Ski Resort Information

Après Ski: Good après ski in Arc 1800 with some regular live music venues Recommended are the JO bar, Red Hot Saloon, Chez Boubou and the jazz bar in the Du Golf. Arc 1600 is quieter but the Abreuvoir is worth a visit as is the friendly Chez Fernand. In Arc 2000, there is the El Latir for live music, plus the Whistler's Dream. At 1950, there are several bars including the O'Chaud and the Belles Pintes.

Activities: Parapenting, floodlit skiing (1600,1800 and 2000), ice rink (1800 and 2000), ski biking, spa facilities at 1950, bowling at 1800.

Eating Out ; Like the Apres-ski, there is more choice in Arc 1800 where there are around 15 restaurants. Recomended are the Mountain cafe and San Diego. Arc 1600 have a few excellent places like the Malouine and the Cairn. In Arc 2000, the Kilimandjaro is popular or the Chez Eux for gastronomic meals, Arc 1950 has a resonable choice for a fairly small resorts.

Other Amenities: Shops, cinema, supermarkets, banks (1800), 25kms of prepared walking paths, shopping in Bourg St Maurice.
