This enchanting and picturesque village nestles against the foothills of the magnificent Julian Alps, just a few miles from the Italian and Austrian borders. Kranjska Gora is a classic alpine resort and a great place for beginners and families, with an excellent ski school. There are some fantastic places to stay, providing high standards of accommodation and service, mostly at very good value. If you are looking for some luxury, choose one of the modern hotels with pools and wellness facilities, or perhaps go for a small and cosy pension for a true taste of Slovenia. Apres Ski: This is fairly low key and no real après life as such on the slopes, but the resort does have a few vibrant venues down in the village. Discover the hot white wine which is Slovenia's alternative to mulled wine.

Activities: Dog sledding, ice climbing, snowshoe walking, outdoor ice skating on lake Jasna, swimming pool with spa, leisure centre.

Eating Out: Kranjska Gora's close proximity to Italy and Austria ensures that there is a wide variety of international cuisine available. There are around 20 restaurants, many of them are hotel-based.
