Skiing is Norway is a unique experience and Geilo has the advantage of incredible snow conditions, arguably the most reliable in Europe, plus perfectly groomed and empty slopes.Set amidst beautiful scenery on the banks of Ustedalen Fjord, Geilo lies at the heart of Norway’s ‘Winterland’ region, with ski areas on both sides of the valley. It is a great choice for beginner and intermediate skiers and the instructorswill speak excellent English. The resort itself is a low-rise village overlooking a frozen lake and the log cabins are perfect for families or groups. With an excellent reputation as a family resort, this friendly and charming village has been welcoming international visitors since 1890. Geilo remains completely unspoilt, with its traditional Norwegian character very much intact.
